Phone Calls
Our switchboard
is open from 8 a.m.
to 5:30 p.m. Monday - Friday. Our clinical staff has
been trained to answer many of your questions.
They are very responsive to your needs and will confer
with your physician.
Due to the high volume of telephone traffic, we ask for
your patience
and understanding.
If the technician is with a patient, you will be asked
to leave a message,
and your call will be returned as soon as possible.
If your need requires immediate attention,
the physician will be notified promptly.
Emergency assistance is available 24 hours a day.

Emergency care
For emergencies during regular
office hours, patients will be added to the regular
appointment schedule. Due to this policy, occasional
delays in the schedule are necessary;
however, every attempt is made to stay on schedule. If such a
delay causes you inconvenience,
we will be happy to reschedule your appointment.
Cancellations
If you cannot
keep your appointment, please give adequate notice to our
office. This courtesy makes it possible to give an appointment
to another patient in need of eye care.
In the event of a
cancellation,
a standby list is available for the benefit of those desiring
an earlier appointment.
Consultation/Referrals
| Consultation requests from your family primary care physician or
optometrist will receive priority over routine visits
and will be handled as quickly as possible. All consultations
will be followed up with a written report. If you
are referred to this office for surgery by an
optometrist, family physician, or another
ophthalmologist with whom you were previously
associated, you will be referred back to his
or her care following your treatment.

Physican and Patient Confidentiality

Your medical record is strictly private. No information regarding
your condition will be given to your employer, friends,
or relatives without your written permission, except as
required by law. We feel it is a mutual benefit to
explain everything to you regarding your condition and
treatment. If your condition warrants surgery,
instructional counseling and videotape
procedural information is provided in our patient
information center. |
