On
your first visit, please bring your EYE GLASSES (or contact
lenses, if applicable), a list
of your current MEDICATIONS and dosages you are taking, and your INSURANCE CARD.
Upon arrival for your
appointment, please advise the receptionist of any changes in
your address, phone number, personal information, etc., that may
have occurred since your previous visit.
You may be asked
to complete a medical history and information form.
A complete
eye examination requires approximately one hour and will include
a review of your complete medical history, examination for glasses (refraction), and dilating (enlarging)
of the eye. The dilating drops may cause temporary blurring of
vision (especially for reading) and sensitivity to bright light,
which may make driving uncomfortable and unsafe. Please make arrangements
for transportation. If you wish, you may request "reversal" drops,
which are
available to shorten the length of time your eyes are dilated.
The technician will check your
vision and eye pressure. The physician will check your eyes and
may ask you to undergo additional testing, such as, Fluorescein
Angiography, ICG Angiography or Ultrasonography, usually
performed in our office. The physician will talk with you about
test results and design an appropriate treatment plan for
you.
