OPHTHALMIC TECHNICIAN

The Ophthalmic technician’s purpose is to work side by side with a physician to provide a great experience for our patients. Tasks include obtaining their medical history, essential eye care diagnostic testing, preparing the patient for an effective exam with their physician, and follow up instructions for continuity of care. The role will require you to work efficiently with a team of technicians and doctors. You would be a good fit for this role if you are a motivated individual with the desire to work hard, are detailed oriented, ready to learn, and are willing to adapt to change.

Previous experience within the field of ophthalmology or optometry is highly preferred and previous experience in direct patient care in a medical office setting is required. Candidates should be willing to build on their skills with on-the-job training and a desire to work towards earning their ophthalmic certification (we will pay for your certification).

Previous medical office experience and knowledge of basic bookkeeping procedures preferred. Knowledge of medical insurance, medical terminology, and ICD-10/CPT coding desired. Proficient computer skills, Windows, ability to learn computer programs quickly and effectively. Accurate typing 50 wpm required, 10-key calculator skills, general office machines. High School graduate or equivalent required. Spanish speaking a plus. Benefit package and competitive salary.
